TheDefend Leaves Your PC Defenseless!

TheDefend is just another rogue in a long line of malicious applications that infect your PC.  This program claims to detect and remove and , but it does not.  The goal is to make you believe that threats reside on your computer, so that you buy the product to remove the threats.

This displays aggressive and performs fake online scans to convince you that infections are on your PC.  TheDefend has no ability to scan your PC, so results shown are fake.  It cannot detect any or infection, and actually is an infection itself.  This rogue can remove nothing. Don’t waste your money!

Like most “badware,” TheDefend has the ability to collect information about you and what you do while you are online.  Your searches, the websites you visit and even personal may be accessed.  Online may be accessed as well, which means your may be at risk.  This information may be sent to , who can then advertise aggressively toward your interests through pop-up ads and e-mails.

How to detect fake security programs

Will you know if is on your PC?  Most likely because there are several obvious symptoms.  Your computer will likely become much slower than normal, or even seem to be unstable.  Security alerts and pop-up ads will bombard you constantly, and your home page may change.  New in your browser, icons in your , and are other common that your PC has been infected.

These rogue security programs place your computer and personal information at great risk.  If you suspect you have TheDefend on your PC, you should remove it at once.  While you can do this yourself, it is risky if you are not experienced in the process.  Severe damage to your computer may result if manual removal is not performed correctly.  To insure that security is completely restored and all is removed, it is highly advised that you use a reputable antispyware tool.
